Class management

According to Moskowitz & Hayman (1976), once a teacher loses control of their classroom, it becomes increasingly more difficult for them to regain that control. As Moskowitz and in my teaching experience class management is one of the main problems a teacher could have during a class. Also, is something Universities or Institutes do not emphasize on. Here is when I ask myself, what kind of strategies a teacher could use in order to, not only, give a class with all the knowledge a teacher must transmit but also, knowing how to control and deal with a class correctly? That’s why I decided to investigate on class management and progressive education attached whit it.

Regarding to support these topics theoretically, I started with the meaning of class management. Regards to the process of ensuring that classroom lessons run smoothly despite disruptive behavior by students. The term also implies the prevention of disruptive behavior. It is possibly the most difficult aspect of teaching for many teachers; indeed experiencing problems in this area causes some to leave teaching altogether. Solving Discipline Problems Charles H Wolfgang and Carl D Glickman 1986 (Allyn and Bacon). On the other hand, I want to link the term class management with Progressive Education (PE), John Dewey embraces the idea that we should teach children how to think and that a test cannot measure whether or not a child is an educated person. According to this, I can explore some alternatives because this method could add to the improvement in managing and controlling a whole class behavior.
